What Sets Us Apart

The Timber
Difference

Most builders subcontract the work that matters most. We don't. From site preparation through framing, finishes, and custom millwork, our team self-performs the critical phases directly — one accountable group, one point of contact, and a finished home that reflects what was agreed from the start.

Jeff Wiegmann and Chris Rall founded Timber around a principle that has guided every project since: integration isn't just efficient — it's what makes craftsmanship possible. When the same people who design a kitchen also build and install the cabinetry in our own CNC-equipped millwork shop, the work is better. There's no handoff where precision gets lost.

We are a licensed and insured general contractor, members of the Wallkill, New Paltz, and Newburgh–Middletown Chambers of Commerce, and carry New York State Home Improvement Contractor registration. Our work is backed by a 5.0 Google rating across 42 verified reviews.

In-House Production

Millwork Division

Every cabinet in a Timber project is built in our own shop at 168 Mt. Zion Road in Marlboro — designed for the specific room, cut on an industrial CNC router, and installed by the same team that built it. The result is cabinetry that fits the room because it was made for it.

  • Custom kitchen cabinetry to exact room dimensions
  • Bathroom vanities and built-in storage
  • Library walls, media systems, mudroom systems
  • Cabinet fabrication supply for other Hudson Valley contractors

Marlboro, NY

Homes built to last — and to be lived in.

Jeff Wiegmann and Chris Rall started Timber with a conviction that building homes is not just about structure — it's about creating spaces that reflect how people actually live. That conviction drives everything: why we self-perform the critical work, why we build cabinetry in our own shop, and why we don't start construction until the design is right.

Based at 168 Mt. Zion Road in Marlboro, we serve homeowners across the Hudson Valley — from New Paltz and Kingston through Rhinebeck and Beacon, down to Warwick and Cornwall in Orange County. Most of our active projects are within a 45-minute drive of the shop.

We hold active memberships in seven regional chambers of commerce and three industry associations, and maintain full New York State licensing and insurance.

Our story

How We Work

A process built for precision, not speed.

Every Timber project follows a deliberate four-phase sequence — one that prevents the surprises, scope changes, and miscommunications that make construction projects difficult. The goal isn't the fastest timeline; it's the right outcome. This is how Jeff and Chris have run projects from the beginning, and it's why our clients rate us 5.0 stars.

01

Preconstruction

Before a drawing is final or a permit filed, we align on scope, budget, and schedule. This phase prevents the surprises that define bad projects.

02

Design

Architecture, interior selections, and millwork design developed in-house using Chief Architect 3D renderings. One team. No handoffs. Design and build share the same accountability.

03

Construction

Site work, framing, and finishes self-performed by our crew. We don't subcontract what we can control ourselves — because control is how precision happens.

04

Completion

Punch list, walkthrough, and handover. We stay involved until the project is exactly what was agreed at the beginning — not approximately.

We believe actions speak louder than words. Every project is a long-term relationship — and we take that responsibility seriously. Here's what homeowners across the Hudson Valley have said about working with our team.

★★★★★

The kitchen is exactly what I wanted — and I didn't know what I wanted until Jeff and Chris helped me see it. The millwork is extraordinary.

M. Sullivan

New Paltz, NY

★★★★★

From preconstruction through the final punch list, there was one team responsible for everything. No confusion, no finger-pointing. Just a house that came out right.

T. Bauer

Woodstock, NY

★★★★★

The most important thing they did was tell me what the project would actually cost before we started. That honesty changed how I felt about the whole process.
